Towards the end of last year, Gwen Stefani collaborated with OPI to create a collection of seven polishes. I wasn’t too excited about any of them, apart from Push and Shove, which is a silver chrome. It comes with a mini bottle of base coat ‘lay down the base’ and is intended for one night wear.
I started with one coat of lay down the base, followed by two coats of Push and Shove.
Push and Shove is designed to be worn without top coat, but I decided to try it out to see what it was like with one coat of HK Girl. It did dull the finish a little, but it wasn’t too noticeable.
I can’t comment on the wear of the polish as I only wore it for the swatches, but I love the look of the polish, especially for a night out.

Today was that day again, derby day. If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you’ll know when it’s time for Sunderland to play Newcastle, I have to have red and white themed nails!
A little about the game first, because we won 0-3 (again!) Fabio Borini started the scoring with a penalty, followed by an Adam Johnson goal less than 5 minutes later. Jack Colback completed the scoring late on, securing our 3rd consecutive derby victory!
I’m up there, close to the line of orange stewards on the left!
It was my friends first away derby, I think he enjoyed it!
For my nails, I got my inspiration from pinterest, and used Julie G Hot Cinnamon, and OPI Solitaire.
I’ve got quite a lot to get swatched at the minute, mainly because of Models Own’s huge 50% off sale, and my massive haul! If you haven’t already, make sure you don’t miss out, even their new HyperGel’s are included! The sale ends February 4th.
Another Nicole by OPI I picked up from the stall at the Metro Centre, which I think is from the Kardashian Kolor collection. A Lit-teal Bit of Love is a bright blue foil, and it is AMAZING. The formula was a little sheer, but it built up well, and I had no issues with staining (with and without base coat.) My pictures show 3 coats with no top coat.
I thought it looked similar to Swimsuit…Nailed It! so I tried them side my side. They are similar but Swimsuit… is slightly darker (and stained more.)
I love both these polishes, so it’s no bad thing that they’re similar!
Kiss Me At Midnight is from OPI’s Mariah Carey Holiday collection. It’s a gorgeous blue liquid sand, with silver glitter. The formula was little thick, but I had no major issues. My pictures show two coats.
With one coat of HK Girl.
It’s that time of the season already. Derby day. Sunderland v Newcastle. It’s been a while since I mentioned football on my blog, mainly because I’m totally fed up with it. But, derby day calls for some red and white nails, even though I’m pretty sure we’re going to get thrashed. Hopefully they’ll prove me wrong and I’ll be over the moon again like last time.
I just went for something simple this time, OPI The Impossible with Solitaire as an accent nail, topped with two coats of HK Girl.
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is from OPI’s Skyfall Collection, and is one of the ‘dangerous shades.’ I picked this up a few months ago when there was an end of season sale on Lena White.
It’s a smokey blue base with a pink, purple, gold and green shimmer. It’s so pretty! It was a little sheer, my pictures show 3 coats with no top coat.
Congratulations to the winners of my first giveaway, Helen E, and Karina V! Thank you to everyone who entered, I loved hosting my first giveaway and look forward to hosting more in the future.
My Pointe Exactly is from OPI’s New York City Ballet Collection. I picked this up from a stall in the Metro Centre for £3.99. I’m not mad about this polish, I didn’t know it was a sheer collection when I picked it up. My Pointe Exactly is a sheer grey, the formula was good, and it dried quickly. My pictures show 3 coats with no top coat.
