Magnetic Red

This Barry M polish is also down as Magnetic Burgundy on some bottles, but I decided to go for red in the title as my bottle says red! I’m not sure if it’s just me, but after I applied the magnet, the polish seemed to look three different colours. I do love this colour though, it’s a lovely metallic red, and when the magnetic was applied the diagonal stripes are a darker shade. As much as I liked the star design on Magnetic Blue, this diagonal effect was much easier to use, as all of my nails were even.

I didn’t use a top coat on this, as I have very little left at the minute, which is why there are a couple of dints in a couple of my nails. I’ll have to get myself a new topcoat/basecoat duo in my next Nails Inc order, when I also plan on ordering this:

Nails Inc’s limited edition Jubilee Crystal Colour, which is packed with red, blue and silver glitter. I LOVE this! I also have a £5 voucher from Nails Inc VIP for my birthday, yay! 🙂

I’m off to London for the weekend on Saturday, shopping, football and the zoo, and I can’t wait! I’m hoping to find some of the new Barry M colours down there that I can’t seem to get my hands on up here! I also plan on doing some celeb spotting whilst getting lost in Harrods and Selfridges, and I really want to try some Pinkberry!

Magnetic Blue

I LOVE Barry M. Out of my nail polish collection, I have more Barry M than any other brand. They have a huge range of colours, and they’re super cheap, what’s not to love! So obviously, when I saw the new magnetic collection, I just couldn’t resist! The magnetic collection comes in 4 colours, Dark Silver, Burgundy, Violet and Blue, and they £4.99. Each colour also has a different magnetic effect, so it’ll be great to collect all four and swap the magnets around too!

The first colour I bought was Blue, which has a star effect magnet. This is a dark blue, and the star effect is a lighter silvery blue.

I did have a few problems with this, first of all trying to get the star lined up in the same place, as you can see from the pictures. Secondly, having a steady hand! I did have to redo a couple of nails after I knocked them with the magnet. The lid where the magnet is does have a little lip on it so you can get the magnetic as close as possible, but you still need to keep it still! And lastly, this was my second attempt at this, as the first time I tried it, I applied top coat too early, which ruined the star effect. So if you want to apply top coat, make sure the polish is totally dry before you do!I can’t wait to try out the other magnetic colours!
