Yesterday, I decided to get creative and make my own light box! A few of the lovely ladies over at the British Nail Bloggers Facebook page were discussing them, and linked to this great tutorial by Chalkboard Nails. It was easier than I thought it would be, and works really well for a cardboard box and tissue paper! It will definitely be getting a lot of use now the weather is turning gloomy, and it’s getting dark earlier.
I decided to try it out straight away, and used a polish I picked up a few months ago. There’s a stall in the Metro Centre which sells various brands, such as OPI and Essie cheaply (I got 3 OPI’s for £3.99 each) and this is one I picked up last time I was there.
Dutch ‘Ya Just Love OPI is a dark purple creme (slightly lighter than Vant to Bite My Neck?) with a gold shimmer. The formula was great, and I only needed two coats. It dried really quickly too. My pictures show two coats with top coat.
I’m also super excited about the launch of Rainbow Connection this month, a new website selling indie polish in the UK! Finally I’ll be able to get my hands on brands such as Dollish Polish, Lacquer Lust (that stunning birthstone collection!) and Polished by KPT (I cannot wait to order some of the amazing thermals!)
